Custom web design

If you need a website with a few custom features or functions not available in our standard package, or a complex custom web application, e-geek can build it. If you have only vague notions of what you want, we'll help you crystallise them. If you know exactly what you want, we'll just make it happen!

The Content Management System (CMS) we use is highly extensible, providing an ideal platform for rapidly building new features and applications, making it easy for us to fulfill your requirements quickly and cost effectively.

Some examples of custom features we've developed are:

  • on-line databases for trading, information sharing, collaboration and campaigning,
  • user-friendly geographical map tools,
  • custom locality searches by postcode,
  • event registration, and
  • donation systems.

Below are the steps we follow to produce the website you want. For more information or a free quote, contact us!

Steps to a quality custom website

To ensure that we produce a quality website that meets your needs we follow a five step process:

Consultation

This step is about finding out what you need from a website and how this can be achieved. We'll look at things like information/content presentation, graphic design and layout, choice of domain name and what sort of hosting package you need. At this point we'll also ask for copies of your logo, advertising material and particular images you would like to incorporate into the website.

Overall design and implementation

We ask for a 50% investment at this point so that we can begin work. Using the information gathered during the consultation we'll produce a draft design and layout of your website. We will make this available in a temporary location online so that you can monitor its progress and suggest any changes. We'll then finalise the overall design. We'll also register your chosen domain name at this point.

Page construction

Next, if you've opted for them, we create the individual pages of the website. You can monitor the progress of this step by viewing the website at its temporary location. When construction is complete we'll ask you to look over the website and make any suggestions for changes.

Hosting

When your website is ready to go and upon recceipt of final payment, we'll make it available at your chosen domain name. We'll also submit it to the major search engines and directories (eg Google, Yahoo and DMOZ).

Guides and tutorials

We'll provide you with a guide on the use of your website if necessary, for example about how to maintain content or use the e-commerce system. We can also give tutorials to you or your staff.
